Pipes can burst in the summer
A Sad and Soggy True Story
A family of four lived in a two-story house: two parents (“Mom” and “Dad”) and two children (“Kid1” and “Kid2”). When Dad and Kid1 and Kid2 went to visit relatives overnight, Mom decided to spend extra time at work. She had a work meeting (also an overnight trip), so she left from work that night instead of going home.
Mom got home late the next day, shortly before everyone else. Dad, Kid1, and Kid2 arrived home to see Mom in the front hallway, staring up at a soaked ceiling and standing in water.
It was a summer day, and a pipe had burst. It was a mess.
Fortunately, SERVPRO® of Murrieta has the expertise and equipment to extract Olympic-pool quantities of water from a house, and we also have dryers and dehumidification equipment to get rid of hidden moisture.
The water was in the house long enough to require mold mitigation. We’re experts at that too. Mold has a musty odor, and part of the downstairs reeked. We are also experts in odor removal.
(Yes, it is hard to be humble, but we credit our hard-working and talented employees for our success.)
There was a happy ending, with a clean and disinfected, dry, odor-free, and safe house.
We hope you never have to deal with water damage in Murrieta Hot Springs, but if a pipe bursts, count on SERVPRO of Murrieta to remove the water and restore your home.
Call us at 951-894-4392, any time of any day. We have 24/7 emergency service.
But it was Summer!
Yes, it was, and we don’t get freezing weather even in the winter. Pipes can burst for other reasons, such as:
- Too much water pressure
- Leaking pipes attract invasive tree roots
- Pressure from lengthy wet and dry spells
- Rusted pipes
- Metal pipes are too old (PVC lasts a much longer time)
- Hard water, especially combined with the increased water use in warmer months
- Clogs
- Low-quality installation or repair
SERVPRO of Murrieta is Here to Help®
