Santa Ana Wind Damage in Murrieta?
3/16/2022 (Permalink)
It has been very windy in Murrieta and Riverside County recently. In February, tree-bending Santa Ana winds blew through the region, creating road hazards and hurling objects onto streets and freeways, causing damage to cars and structures. According to the National Weather Service, peak wind gusts were recorded between fifty and seventy miles per hour across the Inland Empire.
According to the National Weather Service, Santa Ana winds occur when air from a region of high pressure over the dry, desert area of the southwestern United States flows westward towards low pressure located off the California coast. These winds are most common during the cooler months of the year, occurring from September through May.
